BMW Previews Panoramic iDrive® Display

Top-tier BMW luxury vehicles like the BMW i4 are about to be revolutionized with technology that the automotive world has never seen before. At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2025, the BMW team previewed the innovative BMW iDrive® system and its Panoramic iDrive® Display. What is the BMW Panoramic iDrive® Display?

The brand-new — and brand-exclusive — BMW Panoramic iDrive® display has three main components working in tandem. The first is BMW Panoramic Vision®, a head-up display projected above the steering wheel, which creates a three-dimensional effect that the driver and passengers can see clearly. It’s complemented by a central touchscreen display conveniently and comfortably located near the steering wheel for the driver and front-seat passenger to operate. To minimize distracted driving, the suite will include a multifunction steering wheel with illuminated buttons so drivers can control various functions without looking away from the road.

Driven By an Intelligent Operating System

New BMW models come with a cutting-edge operating system. With this new iDrive® technology, models like the BMW i4 will boast the BMW Operating System X. This suite will allow drivers to adjust personal preferences on their Panoramic iDrive® Display, set their own pictures as the background for the central display, and control the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant®.
